Bringing ultrasonography to rural Kenya
We’re so grateful for YOU!
With your help, our first-ever Indiegogo Campaign was a huge success!
We exceeded our goal and raised more than $11,000 for a portable ultrasound machine for our partners in Ugenya, Kenya. As an added bonus, we have two anonymous donors who have matched every dollar donated up to $10,000. We’ll use this money for additional ultrasound staff training and to support our other health programs in Ugenya.
Two Tiba volunteers, Dr. Sachin Gupta and Ranjani Akula, along with their colleague, Dr. Sue Jacobson, will be delivering the portable ultrasound machine at the end of August. During his visit, Dr. Gupta will provide training to the local staff at Matibabu Hospital on how and when to use the machine.
This portable ultrasound machine will also be used during a cancer screening clinic in October in collaboration with Africa Cancer Foundation. The clinic will screen for breast, cervix, and prostate cancers and will serve 1,500 – 2,400 Kenyans.
Thank you for helping us achieve our goal! This one small machine is about to save and change the lives of thousands of individuals in rural Kenya.
